Activities Leader is under the direction of the CCO and Nurse Manager. This position provides oversight of the facility activities and volunteer program.
Completes initial assessments and initiates patient activity program. Obtains additional information from medical record and family members. Follows any medical regime developed for patient while ensuring awareness of precautions (cardiac program, infection control, pressure relief, bed rest limitations) and reports any changes in patient’s condition to Charge Nurse immediately. Develops a therapeutic relationship with patients. Coordinates with other patient services in scheduling of therapeutic activity time. Plans appropriate activities for assigned group.
